Like all our products, this lip balm base is made of 100% natural, nourishing ingredients of Pure English Beeswax, Organic, unrefined Shea Nut & Cocoa Butter and Sweet Almond Oil, which soothe and moisturise your lips without irritating them. Our lip balm moisturises your lips and stays on. Plus a little goes a long way!
We have tried long and hard to come up with the perfect lip balm base, and this is it. We're so pleased to be able to share it with you because this mixture is exactly what we were looking for when we first started making lip balms; a decent, 100% natural base with pure, Organic, unrefined ingredients.

What To Do
Either place the base into a bowl over a pan of simmering water or into a glass bowl/jug in the microwave until melted. There are only 4 ingredients (see below), leaving you room to add your own essential or flavour oils if you wish, but the Virgin Shea & Cocoa butter give the balm a wonderfully subtle nutty, chocolatey taste - which you might not want to tamper with!
After cooling slightly, transfer the melted liquid into the tubes or pots using pipettes. Alternatively, you can melt the base in a glass jug and pour straight into the containers - but only do this with pots, not tubes!

Organic, Unrefined, Fairtrade Shea Butter - This unrefined butter which is made from the West African Shea nut is an excellent skin conditioner and nourishes the skin with Vitamins A, E and F. It heals, protects and soothes rough, dry or chapped lips, and sinks in easily.
Sweet Almond Oil - Sweet almond oil is cold pressed from the almond itself and has conditioning, emollient, softening and smoothing qualities.
Pure English Beeswax - A natural wax made by bees in the cell walls of honeycombs, beeswax creates a protective barrier over the lips which helps the lip balm to stay on. It is also a hydrating ingredient in its own right.
Organic, Unrefined, Fairtrade Cocoa Butter - An outstanding nut fat which is extracted from the cocoa bean, cocoa butter is an emollient that softens, heals and protects chapped skin. It is also high in antioxidants and helps to retain moisture (and gives the lip balm the sweet, decadent, 'creamy' texture).
