This natural lip gloss base is made using Organic Castor Oil added to our natural Lip Balm Base.
It is contained in a bottle and has the consistency of a thick liquid.
This base is fully certified, so if you add nothing to the mixture, you don't have to certify the lip glosses you make out of it in order to sell them, as they will be covered by our certificate.
What to Do
*Pour the lip gloss mixture into a bowl and mix in any flavours or colourings.
*Either use a jug with a narrow spout, funnel or a pipette to transfer the mixture to the lip gloss bottles.
*To minimise wastage, you can pop the bottle in the microwave (without lid) for 10-20 seconds or so to thin the mixture so that it pours out of the bottle more easily. This will also make it easier to transfer the mixture into the lip gloss bottles.
JUST 5 INGREDIENTS:
Organic Castor Bean Oil - This cold pressed oil is thick and viscous with a high fat content, which is absorbed by the skin very slowly. It is ideal for lip gloss as the oil is thicker than other base oils, so will cling to your lips more.
Sweet Almond Oil - Sweet almond oil is cold pressed from the almond itself and has conditioning, emollient, softening and smoothing qualities.
Organic, Unrefined, Fairtrade Shea Butter - This unrefined butter which is made from the West African Shea nut is an excellent skin conditioner and nourishes the skin with Vitamins A, E and F. It heals, protects and soothes rough, dry or chapped lips, and sinks in easily.
Organic, Unrefined, Fairtrade Cocoa Butter - An outstanding nut fat which is extracted from the cocoa bean, cocoa butter is an emollient that softens, heals and protects chapped skin. It is also high in antioxidants and helps to retain moisture (and gives the lip balm the sweet, decadent, 'creamy' texture).
Organic Yellow Beeswax - A natural wax made by bees in the cell walls of honeycombs, beeswax creates a protective barrier over the lips which helps the lip balm to stay on. It is also a hydrating ingredient in its own right.
