With maximum flexibility and versatility in mind, we have created this assessment option to help you design an expansive product line.

Similar to our Flexible Starter Assessments, but you get to choose the ingredients!

With this assessment you can create any base product you like, from CP/HP/MP soaps, whipped soaps, body butters, scrubs, bath bombs, lip balms etc, and you can choose 10 colours and 6 fragrances or essential oils to mix & match as you see fit (within our safety guidelines).

You can either create your own base recipe, or use one of our Cosmetic Bases.

This safely allows you to offer your customers the opportunity to pick and create their purchases.

Product information
The total cost of this assessment is £199+VAT.

You are able to specify or create your base, then you can choose 10 colourants, and you can include 6 fragrance OR essential oils.

You could choose to add 4 other ingredients (not included in your base recipe) at £5 + VAT per extra ingredient. For example, other carrier oils and/or clays.

Blending
The essential oils chosen will be assessed for blending purposes, and providing the potential blends are safe they will be permitted. In general, as long as the total essential oil content doesn't exceed 2/3% it is safe to blend them. There are some exceptions (for example, the total citrus content cannot generally exceed 1%). If there is a different limit or an unsafe blend, the report will state that.

Guidelines for this assessment
Your base must make up at least 90% of your product. Your base may be comprised of no more than 10 ingredients.

Essential oils and Fragrance oils are limited to 2-3% (3% in rinse-off products and 2% in leave-on products. There may be occasions where the safe use limit of your essential or fragrance oil is less than 2%. The maximum amount you can use will be stated in your assessment.)

Colourants are limited to 5%.

This assessment only covers one type of product use. So you can't use the same base to create different kinds of products for multiple uses.

Important notes
For your essential and fragrance oils there may be occasions where – depending on the oils you have chosen – it is not possible for certain oils to be combined, or there may be a smaller limit of use depending on the make-up of the oil.

THIS ASSESSMENT WILL ONLY BE VALID IF USED WITHIN THE LIMITS AND SPECIFICATIONS STATED IN YOUR ASSESSMENT REPORT. ANY DEVIATION FROM THE REPORT WILL RENDER YOUR ASSESSMENT INVALID.

What is required from you
We don’t need to physically see your products to produce your safety assessment. As this assessment is pre-written, no product details will be required from you – we just need your name and address to put on the certificate. This assessment cannot be changed in any way.

Prior to investing in our Assessments, we recommend that customers purchase a small amount of the ingredients involved in order to test the products and see if they are fit for your intended purpose.
